Tawheed (Islamic monotheism), the faith in Allah’s messengers and the faith in the world hereafter are three inter-related matters which when coupled with righteous deeds will result in a happy and prosperous life in this world and the hereafter. Those who stay outside these three articles of faith are the polytheists and are unhappy and depressed.
Anyone who belies the messengers of Allah must be a polytheists (Mushrik), and every polytheist is a belier of messengers, and every Mushrik and belier of messengers is a nonbeliever in the world hereafter, and every non-believer in the world hereafter is a non-belier of messengers and a Mushrik. This is why Allah says:
And so We have appointed for every Prophet enemies - Shayâtin (devils) among mankind and jinn, inspiring one another with adorned speech as a delusion. If your Lord had so willed, they would not have done it; so leave them alone with their fabrications. [113] (And this is in order) that the hearts of those who disbelieve in the Hereafter may incline to such (deceit), and that they may remain pleased with it, and that they may commit what they are committing (all kinds of sins and evil deeds). [al-Anaam: 112,113]
So, in this verse Allah informs that all Prophets had enemies, which are Satans among jinn and mankind, who inspire each other with decorated speech as a delusion, which aims to confuse the subjects and drive them off the right path. This is the case with anyone who opts a path other than the path of messengers, like the philosophers and logicians from the ancient or recent times. Then Allah mentioned that the speech of these enemies of messengers gets a good response from the heart of those who does not believe in the Hereafter.
Hence, it became known that parting from messengers and abandoning belief in the Hereafter are interrelated. So, any disbeliever in Hereafter, listens to the decorated speech of the enemies of Prophets, and hence belies these prophets.
[52] Certainly, We have brought them a Book (the Qur'ân) which We have explained in detail with knowledge, - a guidance and a mercy to a people who believe. [53] Await they just for the final fulfillment of the event? On the Day the event is finally fulfilled (i.e. the Day of Resurrection), those who neglected it before will say: "Verily, the Messengers of our Lord did come with the truth, now are there any intercessors for us that they might intercede on our behalf? Or could we be sent back (to the first life of the world) so that we might do (good) deeds other than those (evil) deeds which we used to do?" Verily, they have lost their own selves (i.e. destroyed themselves) and that which they used to fabricate (invoking and worshipping others besides Allâh) has gone away from them. [al-Aaraf 52,53]
So, Allah informs here that those who abandoned following Books – meaning they rejected the message- to them when the (unseen) information of the Books becomes visible to them, whey will testify that the messengers of the Lord were true in their saying. This verse is similar to the verse:
[124] "But whosoever turns away from My Reminder (i.e. neither believes in this Qur'ân nor acts on its teachings.) verily, for him is a life of hardship, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Resurrection." [125] He will say: "O my Lord! Why have you raised me up blind, while I had sight (before)." [126] (Allâh) will say: "Like this: Our Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) came unto you, but you disregarded them (i.e. you left them, did not think deeply in them, and you turned away from them), and so this Day, you will be neglected (in the Hell-fire, away from Allâh's Mercy)." [taha: 124-126]
So, it is obvious that the main source of happiness and the main source of salvation from torment is to worship Allah alone (Tawheed), and to believe in messengers and the day of judgment, and with righteous deeds.
