MILESTONE 7: DON'T RECTIFY ERRORS BY ERRORS

When parents punish -physically or mentally- their child, they should not exceed the limits. If your child did wrong, then your objective should be to find the best way so the child does not do the same mistake again. It should not be your objective to break a bone or cause physical or mental damage to the child. Now, if this is the case, then you need to apply your brain and search for the best way to achieve this objective. Well, this varies from a child to child. Incentives could be the treatment with some child, deprive from a lovely thing could be the treatment with a second child, and controlled physical -or mental- pain could be the best way in a third.

Once, our Prophet Muhammad -peace be upon him- was in the house of his wife Ayesha -may Allah be pleased with her- when another wife sent some food to the Prophet. Aysha -our of jealousy- could not tolerate, so she smashed the dish on the ground. This is an error. How the Prophet reacted? If it were us, we might start doing harsh things. The Prophet understood the cause of anger in Aysha, and asked her to give one of her dishes as a compensation for the broken one.

Do not become weak (against your enemy), nor be sad, and you will be superior (in victory) if you are indeed (true) believers. [Quran aal-Imran (3):139]
