MILESTONE 9: EQUAL JUST WITH ALL CHILDREN

Sometimes we love one of our kids more than others, because of an extra quality or obedience. That is OK as long it is only an inner feeling. But when it comes to treatment, all should have the same treatment. If you give a gift to one, the rest must have the same gift (in terms of value). Otherwise, an inner hatred will grow between your kids, which might lead into grave consequences.

Quran tells us the story of the Prophet Yusuf (Joseph) when his brothers thought their father (Yaqub (Jacob)) used to favor and love Joseph more. This feeling upgraded into intention of murder!

A man came to the Prophet Muhammad -peace be upon him- wanting him to be witness of a gift he gave to one of his kids. Immediately, the Prophet asked: "Did you gave gift to your other kids?", he replied "No", the Prophet refused to be witness to such an unjust distribution.

Do not become weak (against your enemy), nor be sad, and you will be superior (in victory) if you are indeed (true) believers. [Quran aal-Imran (3):139]
