One way to perish the falsehood and spread the truth is to have an opposition party who exercises utmost effort to refute the truth.
Allah says:
And thus did We make for every prophet an enemy, the Shaitans from among men and jinn, to inspire in each other fancy words, in order to deceive, and had your Lord pleased they would not have done it, therefore leave them and that which they forge. And that the hearts of those who do not believe in the hereafter may incline to it and that they may be well pleased with it and that they may earn what they are going to earn (of evil). [6:112-113]
And Allah says:
And the Messenger cried out: O my Lord! surely my people have treated this Quran as a forsaken thing. And thus have We made for every prophet an enemy from among the sinners and sufficient is your Lord as a Guide and a Helper. [25:30-31]
So, when the falsehood party attempts to discredit the truth, Allah brings forth a party who would support the truth and make it very evident to the public that falsehood can never stand in the face of truth.
For example, if this Quran was immediately accepted by Kuffar of Qureish without any opposition, then the miracle of this Quran and that no one can challenge it would not be evident. But when there was severe opposition and the Quran challenged them to bring a similar book or even ten similar Surahs or even one similar Surah, and yet they could not meet such a challenge, then this clearly sent the signal that this Quran is the superior and is the Winner, which would not be possible without such an opposition.
Similarly, when Prophet Moses declared his message to Pharaoh, immediately there was a strong opposition, and a challenging setup was made between Moses and the magicians in front of the public, and through this process the truthfulness of Moses manifested without doubt.
And this policy continues throughout the history of truth on this earth. It is this opposition that makes the truth prevail in the intellectual field through prove and reason, and in the physical field through battles and Jihad.
Allah says:
We verily sent Our messengers with clear proofs, and revealed with them the Scripture and the Balance, that mankind may observe right measure; and He revealed iron, wherein is mighty power and (many) uses for mankind, and that Allah may know him who help Him and His messengers, though unseen. Lo! Allah is Strong, Almighty. [57: 25]
Similarly at the social level, Allah tests a community and puts them into tribulation, so to separate the evil from the righteous, and without this test this objective would not fulfill.
Allah says:
It is not (the purpose) of Allah to leave you in your present state till He shall separate the wicked from the good. [3:179]
Also says:
Do men imagine that they will be left (at ease) because they say, We believe, and will not be tested with affliction? Lo! We tested those who were before you. Thus Allah knows those who are sincere, and knows those who are liar. [29:2,3]
