 A devastating Cyclone named Sidr hit my beloved country Bangladesh on 15 Nov 2007. Strong wind moving at 150 mph chopped down trees and destroyed houses and crops and killed thousands of cattle and people. Quran and Sunnah teaches a Muslim to have a unique perspective on events which he observes in his daily life. Looking through the lens of Islam –as I understood it- made me get sad how narrow minded many of us are in their observations. Publication of 12 insulting cartoons of Prophet Muhammad –peace be upon him- caused a clear clash of two ideologies: theists and atheists. Under theist’s group all adherents of divine religion will be listed. Because all messengers are sent from the same God in the heaven (Allah) for a noble purpose. That is to guide mankind to the salvation by worshipping one and only One God. These messengers brought a knowledge that nobody can bring by thousands and millions of years of research. Quran is a treasure that is often neglected. If mankind could assess the value of Quran, they would leave everything and instead concentrate on Quran only. It is because it contains solution to every problem and it is a manual for the mankind. Unfortunately, mankind now operates without a manual, and as a result it started to mal-function ever since. Have you ever heard of a house in a deserted place built thousands of years ago, and has no greenery of any of the physical charms, yet for thousands of years people all around the word go there is thousands and who left that house start to long for it again. It is Makkah or as the westerns say Mecca. The word ‘mecca’ coined in English dictionary to mean a place of attraction. Allah –the Exalted- has created human being to worship Him. To fulfill this responsibility requires resources and super brain that can reason things. Allah gave both to human being. Allah gave us a wisdom to reason things and distinguish the right from wrong, and he gave this whole globe and beyond to us as resources that will help us fulfill the objective of our creation.
